Weather:
Overcast conditions prevailed through the entire day with moderate to
fairly strong winds out of the south-southeast.  A few sprinkles were noted
by mid afternoon as an advancing front forecast to bring rain overnight
moved into the area.

 






Raptor Observations:
There was quite a bit of movement despite the gray and damp conditions,
activity that would shut off quickly in the early afternoon. Most of the
migration was to the north but several of the Golden Eagles seen passed
near the count area including one particularly close bird that crossed the
channel below tree top level just south of the watch. Northern Goshawks
have been scarce to say the least so a juvenile seen during the first hour
of the count was a nice treat.
