[Ontbirds]Re: Cranberrry Marsh- Dec.5- Juvenile Bald Eagle

Greetings,

For the first time in many weeks I was able  to get away early from my work
schedule and took a quick detour to Cranberry Marsh-Hall's Rd. from 3:45p.m.
to 4:30 p.m. At the bird feeders at the south viewing platform I 
observed the
following:
numerous Tree sparrows (20+)
numerous Black-capped chickadees (20+)
3 Swamp Sparrows
3 Song Sparrows
1 Juvenile White-throated Sparrow
3 (possibly 4) Dark-eyed Juncos
1 Robin
1 Downy Woodpecker

During this time Canada Geese began flying in to settle on the water 
along the
Lake Ontario shoreline. I decided to check them out and see what other 
waterfowl
were present. When I got to the shoreline there were many hundreds of 
Canada Geese
along the shore and more flying in. While I was observing them a 
juvenile Bald Eagle
flew by about 100 to 150 meters offshore heading west very low over the 
water and geese.
The geese seemed unconcerned.
In addition a Great Black-backed Gull flew by heading east.
Other waterfowl present were 3 Mute Swans, several common Goldeneyes and 
several
Common Mergansers.

On Monday Morning(Dec.3) while shoveling and waiting for the school bus 
with my son
at home in Aurora I observed 5 Pine Grosbeaks in my neighbour's Spruce 
trees, a small
flock of  Redpolls flew over our house/street as did a flock of  
waxwings (species undetermined).
