Special thanks to Kevin McLaughlin for posting this great birds location in Stoney Creek... Myself, and quite a few birders and photographers spent the day watching the Hawk Owl fly fro perch to perch in it's hunting for lunch.

The bird flew over to the tracks, and a few die hards stayed around to watch it hunt from a distance. When the bird finally caught a vole, it flew directly to me, and perched in a tree about 25 feet from where I was standing, and proceeded to eat the head of the critter., and to my amazement, it took off, and flew right by me about 6 feet to my left, about waste height!

On its next perch, it took the remainder of the vole and stuffed it into the top of the rotted tree., as explained to me by Brandon Holden., I did not notice this, and thanks to Brandon for the explanation. I am sure Brandon has a better image, and I hope he posts it soon., but here are a few mine from the day., Here is a link to a few photos:

kind regards, and good birding.
