The female Harlequin Duck, which has been seen regularly at Remic
Rapids, moved to the bottom of the open water portion at the Quebec
side of Dechenes Rapids today. I found it there around 10:30am.
I also saw a Long-tailed Duck at Remic Rapids. Plenty of Pine
Grosbeaks at the Arboretum(along with a robin) and also at the Rockery
in Rockliffe.
The morning glare of the sun was such that I couldn't see across the
Ottawa River well enough to locate the Barrow's Goldeneye that has
been seen there.

Directions:
Dechenes Rapids- Follow Island Park Drive north and cross the
Champlain Bridge. Turn left onto Lucerne and follow to Vanier. Turn
left on Vanier which will reach the rapids. Walk along the trail to
the left(downstream) past the island.
Arboretum: Follow the Island Park drive south and pass through the
Experimental Farm. At its end, Island Park will meet a traffic circle.
Go straight through the traffic circle to enter the Arboretum. Follow
the drive way to its end and the grosbeaks will be in the apple trees
on the left.
