Hello All,
Today, December 29, my wife and I birded the Niagara River from Fort Erie to
Chippawa and
observed many birds. South of the International Railway Bridge (from the
parking area near Catherine Street), we observed a Horned Grebe at 12:00 pm.
Thanks to the visiting U.S. birders for pointing it out and the Fort Erie
birders allowing us a better view through their scope. A Common Loon was
also observed in this area of the river.
>From the Niagara Parkway near the north end of Central Avenue in Fort Erie,
we observed 6 Iceland Gull.
In the area of Miller's Creek Marina at 1:00 pm, 70 Tundra Swan were
observed.
At the feeders in Chippawa at 2:00 pm, we observed 3 Common Redpoll,
possibly a total of 6 were present. 3 Tufted Titmouse were also observed.
