[Ontbirds]Tame Ruffed Grouse With Personality

Further to the posting by Ott User I would like to say that this Ruffed
Grouse Nicknamed "Hilda" by some of the Birders / Photographers found in
Shirley's Bay has quite the personality!  Not only does it follow people
around, it gets into intimate interactions with people.  

 

It also has a very clear way of showing its displeasure when the person no
longer wishes to be with it or when someone interrupts a photo shoot where
it is posing.

 

At one point when a friend and I were taking photos of this bird from my van
another driver came by and interrupted the shoot.  This Ruffed Grouse took
off and chased after the vehicle!  Thinking this bird was now gone we
decided to drive on only to find it waiting at the corner where it quickly
let us know that he / she was still interested in posing.
