I birded the Oakville waterfront today and found a mature male harlequin
just off Coronation Park. It was feeding close to shore mixed in with a
very large raft of long-tailed ducks.
At Paletta Park, the tufted titmouse was actively feeding and I managed
to get a few photographs of it. The titmouse is feeding at a house at
the 1st house on the lake on Secord Lane. Cross the bridge and go left
up the trail. Keep walking until you see the grass going up the hill.
Walk up the hill to Secord Lane. It is feeding at 2 feeders on the 1st
house close to the lake.
A Google Map with exact location of the birds along with pictures of the
tufted titmouse, long-tailed ducks and red-bellied woodpeckers can be
found at http://www.giraud.com/blog.
Coronation Park is at the foot of 3rd Line in Oakville. Take the QEW
west and right exit at 3rd Line (exit 113). At Lakeshore, turn left and
the park is 300m past the intersection on the right hand side.
Paletta Park is on between Appleby and Walker's Line on Lakeshore Road.
>From Coronation Park, turn left and continue on Lakeshore for about 8km.
The park is on the left side.
Good birding
