Hi Folks,

My GO train commute from Richmond Hill to Toronto has been a little more interesting the last couple of mornings. I have seen what I am sure are Black-crowned Night Heron's. Today there had to be easily a half-dozen perched in the same tree which is on the East bank of the Don river just between Richmond St. Exit and North of the BMW auto mall. There is a trail on the West side of the river between the river and tracks which would provide absolutely amazing viewing and photography opportunities. I have seen the birds around 08:35hrs. They appear to be huddled into their wings, I have used this link to verify what I saw: http://www.birds.cornell.edu/AllAboutBirds/BirdGuide/Black-crowned_Night-Heron.html

This afternoon I was able to show my co-workers a Peregrine Falcon perched on the edge of the CGI building Young and King Sts. Thanks to my co-worker for having a pair of compact binoculars for the enhanced view. I will now bring my camera to the office.

Take care,

Glenn
