Thursday morning, on a frozen embayment in the Otonabee River immediately north of Lock #23, a Golden Eagle was dining on the carcass of a very large carp. 
Directions;   Go to the Ashburnham Dr. exit of Hwy. 115 in Peterborough.  Go north on Ashburnham Drive to Hunter St., turn left and drive beneath the hydraulic liftlock to the first traffic light.  Turn right (north) on to Armour Rd..  Continue north on Armour Rd. which changes to River Rd..  At the Nassau dam stop sign, turn right and drive through Trent University to Lock #23.
