    Hi Birders,
Yesterday, January 21, there were 3 Greater White-fronted Geese on the Grand River near Fergus. They were in the company of about 200 Canada Geese.
The purpose of the trip was to find Snowy Owls, but unfortunately do to almost white-out conditions none were found that day.
However, A group outing on Wednesday Jan 16th produced 3 birds: one juvenile, one female and one beautiful, all white male. As well 4 Rough-legged Hawks were seen that day.
Directions: For the Geese go aprox 3 km east of Fergus on Wellington County Rd. 18 to Garafraxa line 2. Turn left (north). there is parking on the shoulder just before the bridge. The birds were seen to up river from the bridge. A Bald Eagle is often seen at this locale as well.
For the Snowys , They are generally seen in an area north and south of Wellington County Rd 109 (formally Hwy 9) near County Rd 16. This is several kms east of Arthur. I generally travel lines 6, 5, and 3 north of Side rd 25. on the south side of 109.
To the north of 109 I drive along Side rd. #7 to Line 2 than east to Cty rd 16 and south again to 109.
I don't recommend birding on 109 as it is a very busy road
