THE OFNC BIRD STATUS LINE @ 6:30 pm, MONDAY FEBRUARY 4, 2008.

This is Chris Lewis reporting.

The beginning of the month brought another record-breaking dump of snow
and very few bird reports. Yesterday the 3rd, a male BLACK-BACKED
WOODPECKER was found in a ravine near Breckenridge, and the TUFTED
TITMOUSE in Forest Park (Embrun) continues to be faithful to its feeder as of
the 3rd as well. A male BARROW'S GOLDENEYE was seen again on the
Rideau River north of the Hurdman bridge on January 28th and 30th, and in
the same area on the 27th an immature Northern Goshawk may have been
the same bird that was reported back on January 6th. A dozen American
Robins were noted along the Rockcliffe Parkway on the 27th, and both Pine
and Evening Grosbeaks continue to be reported from various locations
around our area.

Thank you - Good Birding!
