Good Evening ONTBIRDers:
To get ready for the coming hawk migration season the Niagara
Peninsula Hawkwatch is holding a Hawk Counter's Workshop at 2:00PM on
Saturday, Feb. 23 in the Hamilton Spectator auditorium.
The purpose of the workshop is to launch and review the updated NPH
Counter's Guide and provide a refresher on some of the more tricky
aspects of raptor identification. The ID refresher will consist of a
PowerPoint presentation of over 100 excellent raptor photos by Barry
Cherriere, with input from Tom Thomas and Tim Foran.
Birders interested in learning how to identify hawks, eagles, falcons
and other raptors in the air or who would like to become hawk counters
are invited to attend. As we have lost several counters in the past
year, we are hoping to attract new counter volunteers. To help us
prepare the room, please email Mike Street <mikestreet1 at gmail.com>
privately if you can attend.
Directions to the Hamilton Spectator auditorium, located at 44 Frid
Street, Hamilton, are as follows:
