The ROSS'S GULL at Niagara Falls was last reported the morning of

weekend observers on both the New York and Ontario sides of falls, the
ROSS'S GULL has not been re-
  located.

2, at a new location for the season, the lower river off the Lewiston
boat launch. At the Beck overlook of the power plants in Ontario, a
HERRING GULL X GLAUCOUS GULL hybrid known as "NELSON'S GULL", plus
THAYER'S GULL and several ICELAND GULLS. Above the falls, off Goat
Island, THAYER'S GULL, ICELAND GULL, L. BLACK-B. GULL and GLAUCOUS

and Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.

On the upper Niagara River, off Grand Island, strings of waterfowl,
primarily CANVASBACKS, GREATER SCAUP and COMMON MERGANSERS, stretching
for miles along the open water of the west river. At Beaver Island
State Park, 200 TUNDRA SWANS among the ice floes off the circle drive,
and 30 GREAT BLUE HERONS on the ice above Motor Island. In Tonawanda,
at the Mid-River Marina on River Road, abundant CANVASBACKS and
COMMON MERGANSERS, plus GADWALL, AMERICAN BLACK DUCK, REDHEAD and
HOODED MERGANSER.

In the Lake Ontario Plains, February 3, a very dark SNOWY OWL on
Route 18 at the Wilson-Porter Townline. Flocks of SNOW BUNTINGS with
HORNED LARKS and LAPLAND LONGSPURS at Hulbert Road and
Youngstown-Wilson Road in Wilson.

BALD EAGLES this week - an adult perched on Jeffery Blvd. in the
Town of Hamburg. On the upper Niagara River, two at Strawberry Island
and a single BALD EAGLE at Navy Island, viewed from the West River
Overlook on Grand Island.
