A casual birding venture to Long Point with John Keenleyside on Friday
produced hundreds of Tundra Swans on the snow-covered area cornfields and
many in flight. Area roadsides produced numbers of Horned Larks and
Red-wings; several Robins, a few Grackles and Snow Buntings, six Killdeers
and two Bluebirds.
John had a Hermit Thrush (a wintering bird?) at the LPBO banding station.
On the way to Long Point, there was a Peregrine sitting on a light standard
on the Burlington Skyway Bridge.
Cheers,
