Today I saw an immense flock of Bohemian Waxwings (estimated at close to 300 birds) feeding in and around some flowering crab trees on Maplegrove Avenue in Bradford. At one point, they arose en masse and towered overhead to avoid a Sharp-shinned Hawk that had bolted onto the scene. Several days ago the trees were crowded by an equal number of Cedar Waxwings mixed with five Bohemians. This is the largets flock of Bohemians I have witnessed in this area.
I also saw a Northern Mockingbird in the alley way just west of Toronto Western Hospital in a very "unmockingbird" habitat.
