Observers:
Weather:
Strong sw wind for most of the day. Overcast with light scattered showers
at noon. Cool.
Raptor Observations:
A light flight but a few interesting sightings with an adult golden eagle
at 12:10 the highlight. Local turkey vultures, red-tails, and a displaying
cooper's hawk made sorting out the migrants a challenge at times.
Non-raptor Observations:
Spring migration continued despite the threatening weather. Bonaparte's
gulls (22), wood ducks (8), common loons (10), double-crested cormorants
(16), great blue heron (5), several large flocks of blackbirds, brown
creepers, yellow-rumped warblers, 1 white-throated sparrow, 2 fox sparrows,
several song sparrows. The local male cardinals were singing incessantly.
