I went birding after work this evening to the Mer Bleue Bog. There was a single AMERICAN BITTERN off of the eastern most boardwalk. It was actually visible for about ten minutes, bobbing its head and making that unmistakable call. After a while, though, I think it caught on that I was watching it, so it promptly disappeared into the reeds.

Also present was a single WILSON'S SNIPE that made a brief appearance flying over the boardwalk. CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLERS were in the woods near the OFNC feeder.

DIRECTIONS: Take 417 to the Innes Road exit. Turn right onto Anderson Road about 5 kilometers and follow the signs to the Mer Bleue Bog.
